State of the States in Developmental Disabilities

IDHD has a long history of collaborating with the University of Colorado on the State of the States in Developmental Disabilities, a research project of national significance funded by the Administration on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in the US Department of Health and Human Services. This project tracks public funding on services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, notably on waiver services.

Currently, IDHD is focusing on the use of managed care services in the states to determine how much public money is spent on managed care for this population, what services managed care covers, and how many people are impacted. We are also conducting a survey related to best and promising practices for including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families within managed care systems.
